Being one of the first to purchase something on the day a phone goes on sale may make you feel good, but it’s typically a bad idea. You need to be savvy and persistent in order to maximise savings when purchasing a new handset.
While some advice may seem obvious, others may surprise you. Here’s the list:
1. Do not buy them right away after they go on sale
It is not recommended to purchase a phone immediately after it is placed on sale if you want to save money. Purchasing it during the pre-order period is a far better choice. Even though you won’t be the very first to own the item, you will save some money or at the very least receive more for your money.
Check all the major stores before placing your order because some retailers may try to undercut the competition to get more pre-sales.
The other offer, which is more typical, entitles you to a variety of free gifts and occasionally even gift certificates along with your purchase. However, keep in mind that these offers are typically only available for the most well-known and expensive smartphones.
