Recent figures show the adoption rate of the Brave browser and the number of content creators linking to the platform continues to climb. In the last 30 days alone, usage has increased by over 17% and means over 600,000 have now registered to be able to receive tips from their readers and followers in the form of the browser’s native Basic Attention Token (BAT).
As well as attracting publishers who host their own website, Brave has been successful in gaining the support of content producers on the main social media channels such as Twitter, Youtube, Vimeo and Reddit in addition to the more niche mediums of Twitch and GitHub.
The data provided by bat.watch confirms that more than 48,000 websites are now engaged in the program with the likes of Wikipedia, the Guardian, Washington Post, and Xhamster all on board. However, even that healthy number is overshadowed by the 345,000 Youtube producers – including music channel Trap Nation with 27.8 million subscribers – who support the project.
Launched in a sterling initial coin offering (ICO) in 2017 that raised around $35 million within minutes of opening, BAT has helped to fuel the uptake of the Brave browser and reshaped the traditional model of online advertising revenue.

Co-founder and CEO of Brave, Brendan Eich, has recently publicised how the focus on reward and privacy has resulted in a surge of demand for Brave, with 13.5 million monthly active users and 4.3 million daily active users being recorded last month.

Earlier today, Tyler Winklevoss became the latest advocate for Brave by announcing that BAT can now be deposited on his Gemini exchange with trading pairs to be announced shortly.
